AAP Claims Congress, BJP Collaborate in Protest Politics Strategy

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has leveled accusations against the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging a coordinated effort following Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s protest near the Prime Minister’s residence concerning the NEET controversy. AAP MP Sanjay Singh claimed that the government permitted this protest to distract from a student-led movement demanding accountability for the NEET paper leak, undermining the broader campaign.

Atishi, the Leader of Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, criticized the government’s handling of protests, highlighting what she described as a disparity in treatment. She noted that while student protesters and activists faced restrictions and police action during demonstrations near Parliament, Rahul Gandhi was allowed to stage his protest near the Prime Minister’s residence, receiving a swift response from government officials.

The protest concluded with the police detaining Rahul Gandhi and several Congress MPs, shortly after Union Minister Jitendra Singh met with Gandhi at the protest site. Minister Singh conveyed that the government was open to discussing NEET-related issues in Parliament, adding another layer to the tense political atmosphere.

This incident has brought to light the increasing rift among opposition parties, with AAP criticizing Congress for what it sees as unequal protest treatment. AAP further accused Congress of inadvertently aiding the BJP instead of aligning with the larger student movement seeking justice over the NEET paper leak controversy.
