Speaking at the International Conference on “The Future of Environment and Climate Dynamics” in New Delhi, Modi underscored India’s proactive measures in renewable energy and its early achievement of Paris Agreement climate goals.
The conference, hosted by the National Green Tribunal on September 19 and 20, has gathered judges, government officials, environmental experts, and legal representatives from various nations to address pressing environmental and climate issues. Key discussions at the event revolve around policy implementation gaps, environmental justice, and institutional cooperation.
Highlighting India’s environmental initiatives, Modi pointed out the nation’s advancements in solar energy and non-fossil fuel capacity as evidence of its commitment to sustainable development. He noted that these efforts align with India’s focus on reducing carbon emissions and promoting renewable energy sources.
The two-day gathering features four technical sessions designed to delve into critical environmental topics and strategize on tackling future climate challenges. Participants are expected to share insights and propose solutions that could enhance global climate dynamics and environmental policies.
