Trump Calls for Iran’s Complete Military Dismantling as War Approaches Catastrophic New Phase

President Donald Trump signaled on Friday that the United States intended nothing less than the complete dismantling of Iran’s military capabilities, announcing the obliteration of Kharg Island’s military installations and promising dramatically harder strikes in the coming days. He called Iranian leaders “deranged scumbags” and declared their deaths a great personal honor, leaving no room for ambiguity about Washington’s objectives. US and Israeli warplanes continued their relentless bombing campaign against Tehran and other Iranian targets throughout the day.
The war has entered what many analysts fear is its most dangerous phase, with both sides showing zero willingness to negotiate and the violence spreading across more than a dozen countries. Iran has reported over 1,300 deaths. Lebanon has counted over 600 killed and 800,000 displaced. Israel reports 12 deaths. Thirteen US service members have been killed, including six in a tanker aircraft crash in Iraq. France has lost one soldier to a pro-Iranian militia drone in Iraq. The regional death toll climbs daily with no ceasefire in prospect.
US and Israeli forces have struck more than 15,000 enemy targets combined since the conflict began, at a rate exceeding 1,000 per day. Israel alone confirmed over 200 individual strikes in the most recent 24-hour period. Trump’s late announcement about Kharg Island described US Central Command executing one of the most powerful bombing raids in the history of the Middle East, wiping out every military facility on Iran’s primary oil export hub. He simultaneously threatened to destroy the island’s oil infrastructure if Iran continued to attack Strait of Hormuz shipping.
The conflict has swept across the region with devastating effect. Saudi Arabia intercepted close to 50 Iranian drones. Qatar issued Doha evacuation orders before a missile interception. Two died in Oman. Dubai’s financial district sustained damage. Eight more died in Lebanon’s Sidon in an Israeli strike. Hezbollah injured about 60 in rocket attacks on northern Israel. Iranian Revolutionary Guards launched new coordinated strikes on Israel as part of al-Quds Day. Iran’s new supreme leader Mojtaba Khamenei, described as wounded and hiding underground, issued only a written statement and no video.
Tehran residents have described a city in chaos, with explosions, power cuts, rubble, and dwindling fuel supplies rendering daily life nearly impossible. A shopkeeper counted six explosions in one hour. A retired professor begged the international community to intervene before the city was completely destroyed. Roughly one-fifth of global oil and gas flows through the Strait of Hormuz, which Iran has effectively blockaded, prompting European governments to quietly seek diplomatic safe passage agreements with Tehran. Trump’s threat to destroy Iran’s oil infrastructure added further pressure to already volatile global energy markets.
