Russia’s “existential threat” policy is its guarantee against defeat in Ukraine, Ambassador Denis Alipov stated this week.
He explained that this doctrine, which allows for nuclear use, is the reason Russia “can’t be taken over” in the conflict.
The ambassador’s comments came as the war, funded by billions in Western aid, nears its fourth year.
Alipov dismissed Western hopes for a Ukrainian victory as “childish” and “unprofessional.”
He also drew a contrast with Donald Trump, claiming the former US president “understands” the war is “lost by Ukraine and the West,” unlike the “belligerent” European nations.
