PIB Exposes Hoax Letter Claiming PM Modi’s Resignation.

A viral social media post falsely claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has resigned from office has been debunked by India’s government. The Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check unit confirmed that the purported resignation letter, complete with the national emblem and a seemingly authentic signature, is a fabrication.

In response to the misleading post, the bureau asserted that no such resignation has occurred. Officials emphasized the importance of verifying information through official channels before such claims are shared online, as misinformation can spread rapidly and cause confusion.

This incident is not isolated, as there have been recent cases involving the dissemination of false information about the prime minister. Notably, AI-generated videos have surfaced, wrongly depicting Modi making statements about student protests. These digital manipulations highlight the growing challenges of distinguishing genuine content from fakes in the digital age.

Authorities continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and critical of the content they encounter on social media platforms. By exercising caution and relying on verified sources, individuals can help curb the spread of misinformation and its potential impact on public discourse.
